Charter
The Institute exists to uphold objective truth in protection claims by connecting courts and counsel with experts whose opinions rest on transparent sourcing, disciplinary expertise, and independence from advocacy outcomes. Our mandate aligns with the spirit of international refugee law while remaining firmly independent of any party to litigation.
Quality-control methodology
Before an expert report is released, the Institute applies a structured review pathway: conflict checks, source triangulation, citation integrity review, and confirmation that conclusions remain within the expert's stated field. Client-identifying detail is never required for matching and must not appear in public materials.
Governance & advisory posture
Strategic direction emphasises academic rigor, accessibility for legal aid and pro bono instructing parties, and clear separation between open-access publications and confidential case work. Advisory input draws on university researchers and practitioners experienced in public-interest asylum litigation.
